We are diverse
Now presenting: A spectrum of sexuality
Action!
Friends at the award-winning public broadcasting station Once TV asked me to develop the visual identity design for this documentary series.
The intro presents approaches to the broad spectrum of sexual diversity and dissent. Presented from multiple angles, it explores taboos, judgments, prejudices, and daily achievements experienced by those who fight every day to fully exercise their rights
Places, places
From the initial design concept to the final intro, bumpers, and stings, I owned the entire visual project.
After pitching a few concepts, the moving shapes and gradients were chosen for the intro.
The abstract graphic solution worked well for multiple reasons: the abstract shapes elegantly covered the concept of diversity, and gave the public broadcasting channel a timeless intro that could work for each season — an important factor with their limited budget.
That’s a wrap

Gradients, extremely in vogue at the time and an important visual interpretation, reflected the spectrum of gender and sexuality that the show presented.
That’s all folks!
The visual identity is still on-air, with almost 20 episodes and millions of viewers to date.
